A saying highlights how you are meant to live as a Human
It goes like this.
There is a God-sized hole in every man that can only be filled by God.
Every struggle that you have, finds its origin in the fact that you are trying to use other things to substitute for the role that God is meant to play in your life.
I don’t know what it is for You.
It might be Money, Relationships or any other kind of thing that bring you momentarily pleasure.
Of course, some of these things are important.
Even the Bible says that “Money answereth all things ".
But the root of the problem is failing to realise that God is your source and nothing is meant to take his role in your life.
In Matthew 6, Jesus was talking about the provision of needs.
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Verse 33 talks about seeking first the kingdom, and it is one of those scriptures that have been used to teach about following God.
But the thing about that scripture is that it goes beyond the starting point of following God.
It is meant to be your guiding light throughout your journey with God here on Earth.
You see.
There are parts of your life that you have no problem handing over to God.
You have no problems telling people that you are a Christian.
Or attending church every Sunday.
But being a Christian goes beyond gathering with others once a week or ticking it when filling a form for an application.
The meaning of Christian is Christ-like.
The first people that were called Christians were called that in Antioch because they were behaving like Jesus.
So if people can’t tell that you are a Christian by watching how you conduct yourself then you have some work to do.
God does not want parts of your life.
He wants all of it.
If He is not Lord of all, then He is not Lord at all.
And I am not here to judge you or rate your level of Holiness.
The truth is that we are all broken in one way or the other.
Before I got to the place of the encounter with God, I had my own internal battles with sin, addictions and every other thing that makes us feel unworthy.
But God saw me and still wanted me that way.
He drew me close and changed my life one layer at a time.
You see, it is not your job to redeem yourself.
Don’t allow anyone to make you feel less of yourself.
They are not greater than Jesus who chose to die for you.
His choice shows that you matter and if God says that you matter, there is no other opinion that matters about your life.
God is not looking for perfect people. He knows that you are not perfect.
I mean we attend Church Services. Only Cars that need work go to get Serviced.
God just wants you to trust Him and give Him room to work out His Goodness in your life.
So let Him do that.
About WordHouse
For those that might have been wondering.
WordHouse is not a church, a fellowship or any other form of a religious body that you might think it is.
It is simply a community of Christians who have committed to growing daily in the Lord.
Everyone at WordHouse has their own church where they are committed to and also serve.
It was started based on divine instruction to Obiajulu Onyema on 31st December 2020.
The founding scripture was Joshua 1:8:
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.(NKJV)
At the start of WordHouse, all we did was commit to our daily devotion.
We kept ourselves accountable by sharing the notes in the group.
But with time God has helped us set up more and more structures.
We now read books and listen to messages that help us grow.
We also currently have Six Cells: Zoe, Dunamis, Charis, Adonai, Jireh and Faith.
The purpose of Cells is to help us better keep ourselves accountable and ensure that everyone is growing.
We also started doing State Meetups across Nigeria and these are some of our Meetup Pictures.
We also did a Virtual Meetup
The truth about the Christian walk is that you were never meant to go on that journey alone.
You need people to support you on that Journey.
There is a role that God plays and there is a role that people play too.
One of the added benefits of WordHouse is that we have gotten a pool of Godly friends.
Many people struggle with living right because they are surrounded by the wrong kind of people.
WordHouse has provided everyone who is a part of it a place where they can get genuine and unconditional love.
